Captured this Wild garlic (Allium vineale) and wild onion (Allium canadense) with beautiful blue flowers. People have told me this plant is edible, However , I can not say 100% sure. If anyone knows please let me know. Thank you for watching Video filmed by: YouTuber ln4359

    That’s cool! Identifying plants for possible later use. If you go on like this for any length of time You’ll be a very useful woman to have around. Not that you aren’t already of course.
    Have you thought about introducing some things such as pest resistant fruit or nut trees? I notice that nothing eats my dometicated onions in my garden. I wonder if planting them in the wild would be an option? You might be able to weave all kinds of useful plants in with all the native plants that are useful.

    yes im trying to ID edible plants in the wild in case the garden fails. Ive already eaten a few wild edibles but the garlic also called onion??? has a look alike. I dug one up to look for a bulb and didnt see anything, so Im a bit scared to try to eat the plant. I havent planted any fruit trees, hoping to find wild apples. I dont know anyone interested in foraging or gardening besides youtubers

    here in the south we call them(especially hill people) them ramps.

    Is my plant ID correct? Are they edible? why are they called them ramps? I read where the plant is a problem in lawns

    yes they are ..they are a major part of mountian diet…they even have a Ramp Fest every spring..yeah they grow in peoples lawns…hard to get rid of
